At what resolution / DPI does the PSD render?

Pages are rendered at 150 DPI, which is crisp on screen and fine for most printing. There is no DPI setting for Word to PSD. For 72 or 300 DPI, convert the Word to PDF first, then use the PDF to PSD converter, which has a Resolution setting.

Can I convert just specific pages of the Word to PSD?

No. There is no page setting for Word files, so every page is rendered as its own PSD and you keep the ones you need. If you only want the first page, convert the Word to PDF and then use the PDF to PSD converter, whose Pages menu offers First page only.

Can I use the PSD images as previews or thumbnails?

Will the PSD be searchable or selectable text?

Why does my PSD look pixelated when zoomed in?

You are viewing a raster image, so zooming past its native resolution shows the pixels. A Word renders at a fixed 150 DPI here. For a sharper PSD, convert the Word to PDF and use the PDF to PSD converter at 300 DPI.
