At what resolution / DPI does the JPG render?

Pages are rendered at 150 DPI, which is crisp on screen and fine for most printing. There is no DPI setting for Word to JPG. For 72 or 300 DPI, convert the Word to PDF first, then use the PDF to JPG converter, which has a Resolution setting. JPG is the JPEG standard from 1992, served under the .jpg, .jpeg and .jfif extensions alike, and after three decades it is still the format most cameras and most websites use for photographs.
Can I convert just specific pages of the Word to JPG?

Why does my JPG look pixelated when zoomed in?

You are viewing a raster image, so zooming past its native resolution shows the pixels. A Word renders at a fixed 150 DPI here. For a sharper JPG, convert the Word to PDF and use the PDF to JPG converter at 300 DPI.
