WebP to TIFF Transformation FAQ

How do I convert WebP to TIFF without losing image quality?
+
Upload your WebP file, then our converter applies format-aware quality optimization for TIFF output. For lossless formats (PNG, TIFF, BMP) we preserve every pixel; for lossy formats (JPG, WebP) you can tune the quality factor before download.
Transparency survives when going to PNG, WebP, TIFF, GIF or SVG. Converting to JPG flattens the alpha channel against a white background — if you need transparency, target a transparency-aware format instead of TIFF.
In most conversions, camera EXIF fields such as the camera model and GPS position are not carried into the TIFF. There is no setting on this page to keep or remove metadata, so check the result with a metadata viewer if it matters.
Several files in one job need a paid plan. Free use is one file per conversion, one conversion an hour. On a paid plan you can add several files to one job, then download each result on its own or all of them in one ZIP.
Default behaviour is 1:1 — your TIFF output has the same pixel dimensions as the source WebP. If you need to resize as part of the conversion, use the /resize-image/ tool after conversion, or chain it with the /image-resize/ utility.
For JPG / WebP, quality 75-85 typically gets the file 60-80% smaller than the source WebP with no visible difference at normal viewing distance. For lossless targets (PNG, TIFF), expect smaller savings — usually 5-30% via better deflate / LZW compression.
Yes. Uploaded WebP files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted TIFF are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
A WebP file with strong compression (e.g. heavily lossy JPG) often grows when re-encoded to a lossless TIFF (PNG, TIFF), and a high-bitrate lossless WebP often shrinks dramatically when going to JPG/WebP. The ratio depends on image content (photos compress differently from line art).
Yes. The conversion is a format change — copyright on the image content stays with you (or whoever held it on the source WebP). We add no watermark, no metadata stamp, and claim no licence over the output.

WebP

WebP provides superior lossless and lossy compression for images on the web, developed by Google.

TIFF

TIFF files handle high bit depths and lossless compression, ideal for expert photography and printing.
