Will the AZW3 to PDF conversion keep my fonts / formatting?

Headings, lists, tables and images are kept, and the fonts used are embedded in the PDF, so it looks the same in every viewer. A font that is not installed on our conversion servers (Calibri, for example) is replaced with a similar one, so line breaks can shift. An image file becomes a PDF page that shows the image. AZW3 is Kindle Format 8, which Amazon introduced in 2011 to replace the ageing MOBI format.
Is the PDF searchable (selectable text)?

Yes when the AZW3 contains real text (DOCX, ODT, HTML, TXT, EPUB). Image-based AZW3 produces an image-only PDF — to make it searchable, use /pdf-ocr/ after conversion to run optical character recognition.
Can I password-protect the PDF after conversion?

Not in this tool — convert AZW3 to PDF first, then use the /pdf-* tools to add a password, watermark, or restrict editing.
Is my AZW3 file private during PDF conversion?

Yes. Uploaded AZW3 files are processed on our own conversion servers, no person reviews them, and they are never shared. The upload and the converted PDF are both deleted automatically about 24 hours after the conversion, which leaves time to download the result. See /privacy/ for the full policy.
Does the converter work with scanned AZW3 images?

Yes — a scanned-page AZW3 (JPG, PNG, TIFF) converts straight to PDF. If you need the PDF to be text-searchable, follow up with /pdf-ocr/ to run OCR over the scanned pages.
Can I convert AZW3 to PDF and email it directly?
